a songwriter first, John brings a blend of something old and something new to junk poets. with an english rock flare and an uncanny ability to land a hook, the songs are both fresh and novel yet seem familiar. john's accomplishments include: 1989 winner of the budweiser battle of the bands - central texas division; member of the highly successful band "the kangs" which opened shows for cheap trick, the producers, bachman turner overdrive, foghat, and pat travers; co-wrote and collaborated music with david zychec, formerly of airborne (columbia records) and edgar riley jr., formerly of axe (atco records, mca records); winner of numerous song writing competitions and acknowledgment from arista records; wrote and produced music to two motion pictures, ghostriders and demon warrior. john's experience and guidance has proven invaluable to the band.

john has currently released an independent project on j-bird records and is extremely excited as he experiments with alternative music avenues.
